Put lots of thought into your cake and dessert foods because they may provide some of your most colorful and fun photos. A wedding cake or some kind of dessert is one of the primary elements of a wedding. Fortunately, in this area, creativity is more important than expense. Although the professionals can create exquisite confectionery creations, try to come up with ideas that are very personal to you and your fiancé. Whomever creates your cake, cupcakes, donuts or wedding pastries will enjoy making them more and will put more heart into them if you can tell the baker what’s meaningful and special to you. Also, tell your photographer why they're special so he can choose the right angles to show your intentions.

Revel in Romantic Red
Red is the color of romance, love and passion! Throughout history it has been associated with fire, longing, energy, sexuality and joy - the intense emotions in life. So red on a background of white is an ideal color for a wedding as evidenced by these vibrantly alive pictures at the Italian Cultural Garden in Cleveland.
Red also symbolizes courage and strength, two traits needed for a long and meaningful marriage.
“Even a touch of red in a photograph, pulls the viewer in to look more deeply at the image,” explains photographer Daniel Ivan.
Color, shape and symmetry are all important in creating images that are unique and compelling. As you create the decorative elements for your wedding, take the time to look with a critical eye at your creations and imagine what they’ll look like in a photo. Do they look eye-catching or overdone and cluttered? Weddings are short, photos are forever!

Sunsets do indeed make dreamy photography. A sunny day can result in photos that convey a couple’s happiness. Surprisingly, great photography can happen under overcast, even turbulent skies. Passion, strength and the power of love to last can be created under a stormy sky. Drama and contrast that show details often appear in photos shot outdoors on an overcast day. So if your engagement session or wedding day is overcast or even rainy, don’t panic! Daniel excels at seeing a couple’s love deep within their souls regardless of the weather.

A couple’s love is the emotional element of engagement and wedding photography, but sometimes they also love the jewelry, so why not create memorable photos of it too? Whether heirloom jewelry or a surprise engagement ring, jewels come with radiance that blooms in photography. Pairing jewelry with other accessories, often results in truly memorable photography. Daniel will explore creative ways of integrating them for unique photos, so be sure all of your accessories, including shoes, are clean and photo-ready. And leave enough time in the pre-wedding photos to have fun pairing things!

Why Great Photography Takes Time?
Although photography is one of the costs of the engagement and wedding experience, there is one aspect of photography that makes a huge difference. It’s not money, it’s TIME. It’s the willingness of the bride and groom to take the time to let the photographer creatively experiment in the present moment with all of the elements around them. Light, shapes, angles, color, emotion, all of these and many more are part of the creative process in the photographer’s mind. He tries one thing and then sees something else that might add another dimension to the photo. That ability comes from having taken thousands of photos over his lifetime. Patience is rewarded with photos that bring tears to the eyes because they are so uniquely you and express what is so very meaningful to you. When it’s time for photography, take lots of deep breaths and give yourself the gift of time. This is often why the very best photos are sometimes created during the engagement session and after the wedding.
