Using Your Home for Your Wedding Venue
http://www.zenfolio.com/danielivan/e/p774937574If you’ve looked into wedding venues and haven’t found one that is satisfying, consider your own home or that of a family member or friend. Yes, it’s more work to create your own venue, but it can also give your wedding a very unique and special feel and may save you money. We say “may” because sometimes people who have home weddings end up spending as much on renting items for the wedding as they would using a professional venue. That’s no reason not to do it, but just take the time to think through everything that may need to be rented. From the photographic point of view, consider whether or not there are places within the home or lawn that will make good backgrounds. Gardens are great if they are weeded or if enough flowers are in bloom. If the wedding or reception is indoors, is there available natural light? Is there enough space so that the guests are not too close to the wedding couple during the ceremony? If you’re trying to decide whether or not to have a home wedding, take lots of photos on your phone or any camera of the rooms and lawn or gardens where you think you might hold the activities. Spaces can look very different in photography than they do in real life. You may also want to consider having one part of the wedding at home and another part at a different venue. The magnificent Sunflower field has once again brought magic to the city of Avon, Ohio. We are greatly blessed to have this glorious field of yellow which provides a spectacular background for pictures, in our community. The most beautiful part is that it was planted in the memory of a young girl who died of brain cancer. The spirit of Maria lives on in the joy her Sunflower field brings to others. This unusual idea of honoring a child started small but has grown stronger as more people have become aware of the field which is replanted and enlarged each year. Let the beauty and magic of nature transform your body and heart so that you may live the healthiest and best life you can.
