The First Dance: A Wedding Tradition - Get Ready!
If you're having a wedding reception, the crowd will want to see a First Dance. After all, it has been a tradition for at least 400 years. For most brides, by the time the long wedding day gets to the First Dance, they're wearing down. It will go better if you plan for it. Some couples take a few dance lessons or hire a choreographer to create a dance for them. Others practice in private. Choose music that both you and your betrothed enjoy and are comfortable dancing to. Before the wedding, make sure the deejay or band knows your selection and has it ready to go. If you love dancing, make it a long song, but if this part of the wedding is not your thing, pick a short one. Most of all, remember that dancing is about joy, and by this time in your day, you'll have a lot to be joyful about!
