Defy Wedding Day Stress - Say Yes to Joyfulness!

How do you create a stress-free wedding experience for yourself, your betrothed, and your guests? Is it even possible? Isn't stress part of the excitement of it all? First, understand the difference: stress is an emotional state due to demanding circumstances. Stress is negative. Excitement is a feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness. Excitement is positive.

So set an intention, yes, decide to be excited on your wedding day, but not stressed. Your bubbling joy is the gift you give to those who love you. Now that you've decided, what actions do you take to ensure that you can carry through with your decision?

Number one: don't experiment. When it comes to your dress, hair, and makeup, go with what makes you feel good. Be who you are! Choose to look special, but don't try to create a new self for this one day. The person marrying you is doing so because of how you have been in the past. Listen to others' ideas if you must, but honor yourself by choosing what pleases you.

Number two: make a budget and stay within it. Money matters cause more stress and more discord among couples than just about anything else. Just as you learn to say no to ideas that aren't you, say no to being overly showy or grand in your wedding plans.

Number three: talk with your photographer so that he or she truly understands what you want captured in your photos. Even a simple wedding can look elegant in the photos.
