What Men Want in Their Weddings?

What Do Men Want In Their Weddings?

Weddings are all about the brides - right? No! The bride is half of the couple. The other half, the groom, has dreams and wishes for this big event in his life too. Many grooms, however, feel overwhelmed by the exuberance with which their brides-to-be (and her mother and grandmothers, aunts, sisters and friends) approach the wedding planning. So, the grooms back off. “Just tell me where to stand,” grooms have been heard to say.

Many grooms believe the brides and their entourages make everything so complicated, and care so much about the tiny details of things like table settings, that the big picture is overwhelmed by the details. To the groom, the big picture, is a day full of friends and family that have joined together to celebrate the couple starting a new life together. The bride typically sees an entire day where everything, including herself, has to be perfect.

So what do grooms want? They want the bride to relax and let go of the perfectionism that created “bridezillas”. They want their beloved to enjoy the day and to realize that she is already just what he wanted.  Many brides-to-be are so influenced by the concept of over the top Instagram photos that they forget the day is all about love. Men want women to let go of perfection, and to enjoy themselves.

By the way, the photography that comes from a day where the bride and groom are focused on each other and are joyful, rather than stressed, always results in more wonderful photography.

Love is Everywhere, Everywhere!

Like Air, Love is Everywhere!

Why do engagements and weddings, Valentine's Day and anniversaries, chocolates and flowers, and a hundred other celebrations of romantic love persist? You might think it's marketing, but it's not! It's because love is as pervasive as air. It's everywhere. Why when a couple has billions of other humans to choose from, do they find each other?

How do we find the heart song that harmonizes with our own? Who knows? Love is magical and it will never, ever go away for good.

At Daniel Photo Pro, we celebrate love, especially love that brings friends and families together in ways that build memories and deepen relationships. Love is everywhere you look, if you only look!

What Do You Value in Your Wedding?

What Do You Value in Your Wedding?

What you value should be reflected in your planning!

What you think you value in your thoughts and what you value in your heart (when you’re honest with yourself) may not match. Since weddings take lots of time and money, it’s important to reflect on what you truly value, and to communicate your values to your photographer. When you are clear about your values, you’ll end up with photos that truly reflect you and your beloved. Wedding photography is the only thing in a wedding that will be revisited again and again over the years. Dresses go in storage, gifts get used up, but wedding photos remain treasures.

What do we mean by values? If you’re a creative person, the artistry in the photos will be a value. If you’re a “people” person, you’ll want the photos of family and friends to be an emphasis for the photographer. If you’ve dreamed your whole life of your day as a Bride, YOU may be the thing you value, and the photographer should know that. Don’t be judgmental about your values. Just be clear about them. You don’t have to tell anyone but your photographer to make sure the photos reflect what's in your heart.

Most wedding photographers try to shoot the sequence of events at a wedding and to get photos of the family and key friends attending, and all of the traditional photos (kiss at the altar, first dance, etc.) but when we know what the bride and the groom care about most, the results are deeply satisfying.

Wedding Photography is a Great Christmas Gift!

Wedding Photography is a Great Christmas Gift!

Of all the wedding gifts you will receive, the one you may enjoy the most often is your photographs!

Most newlyweds proudly hang their best wedding photos in their homes not only to remember that most special of days, but as a reminder that they are now a couple on the deepest level and part of extended families.

Wedding photos are treasures that last longer than a lifetime, because they’re passed down to children and grandchildren (who enjoy seeing the strange clothes their ancestors wore). Choose your photographer carefully and consider suggesting that family or friends consider payment of either all or part of a photography package as a wedding gift.
