Weave Your Heritage into Your Wedding Theme

A wedding joins new families together and expands them both.  That’s why there is great celebration, including photography of every person and every part of the experience. In America, everyone has a heritage and ancestors that came from somewhere (unless you’re Native American with a family that’s been here thousands of years!). It can be fun to research that and bring some of it to life in your wedding planning.

Whether your ancestors were Europeans, Asians or Africans, or just many generations of garden variety Americans, it can be fun to add some elements to your wedding to include that heritage. The wedding photography can be enriched with such elements as the photos below show.  Everything in the world, from hands decorated with henna (an Indian tradition), to the blessing of the crowd (a Romanian tradition) to American Western rustic style, to big city sophistication, can make a wedding interesting for guests.  They can get to know the families better and leave the wedding glad they came.

The fun part of wedding planning can be when the bride and groom have different cultural heritages. They can often be blended together with symbols and foods.

Think beyond the wedding hype in magazines and online.
