How to Make the Most of Your Bridal Show Experience
Oprah often says “fortune favors the prepared mind”. Attending a bridal show or fair takes a large part of a day of your life! Go prepared and use the time you spend effectively. Bridal shows are fun and filled with giveaways and edible delights (which is a bit ironic since most brides want to lose weight), but they can also be an excellent resource if you are a bride with a wedding to plan on top of your already busy life.
Take some time to think through what you want to accomplish at the show, and make a list of the key types of vendors you want to see. All shows have an online list of vendors that you can view in advance. Often brides attend shows for ideas in addition to finding out more about specific vendors. When you first arrive, stroll through the whole show just looking at things which appeal to your senses.
Try not to get distracted by all the freebie stuff; look for ideas which might fit into your overall wedding plan.
Then, if you have a list of vendors that you want to speak to or see more of their work, seek them out. Take notes on your phone or on paper. Days or weeks after the show, you may not remember what impressed you about a particular vendor. Try not to start with price, when you’re talking with vendors. Try to understand what value they bring to you before price. Any really good vendor will have many questions for you before they talk price. If you want a unique wedding, don’t go for the cookie cutter packages right off the bat. Talk first!
In the case of Daniel Photo Pro, you’ll find we enjoy questioning brides about what they want, rather than showing them what we have done. Our work speaks for itself. The more we get to know you and your groom and your dreams, the more we will create photography which you will love and cherish.
