Finding Happiness When Covid-19
Spoils Your Plans and Visions
If your engagement, wedding, and travel plans, or simply your plans to start a new life have been dimmed by the pandemic, be sure to feel the disappointment – for a short while! The more important allowing, however, is for your natural happiness to bubble up from within you where it hides. It takes more energy to allow happiness than it does to wallow in disappointment. Allowing happiness happens when you accept what you can’t do about your plans and start looking at what’s possible. Think outside your pre-pandemic brain for new ways to approach manifesting your dream engagement, wedding, or honeymoon!
First of all, try to be open to the idea that in the end, different may turn out to be better. Since the pandemic, thousands of couples around the country have still gotten married. The remarkable thing is that many found they had more ingenuity and creativity in planning their events than they thought they had. So, if you’re in the midst of trying to plan your future and you run into pandemic-related roadblocks, try taking some time to release the disappointment and hassle, and then allow your natural happiness to return. Happiness will fuel your creative juices and you will be surprised at how you will begin to see possibilities where the obstacles stood.
The first recorded evidence of a marriage ceremony uniting one man and one woman dates to 2350 BC! That’s well over four thousand years ago. You don’t have to study world history to know that a lot of bad things like plagues and pandemics have come and gone, yet wedding ceremonies have gotten more popular than ever. As the song says, don’t worry, be happy…and start planning!

Flowers & Plants - How to Have a Beautiful Wedding on a Tight Budget
Let Nature Help You!
The costs mount up fast when you’re planning a wedding. These days most people are scaling back costs, but not dreams! Dreams can be adapted to a tighter budget by letting the beauty and bounty of Mother Nature help you curate a wedding and reception venue with color and creativity. Making flowers and plants your primary elements doesn’t mean your florist bill has to be huge. It will take a little work and planning, and perhaps yard sale hunting for pots, vases. and containers, but the possibilities are unlimited if you’re willing to do the work.
If your wedding and reception are in the distant future, you can begin now by planting seeds or starter plants inside your home so that by the time the wedding arrives you’ll have some of the flowers or plants you want. Don’t have a green thumb, time, or inclination to do that? Then get to know the nature around you, in neighbors’ yards, parks, or any natural place. Look deeper to see what you love. Let people know your plans. You would be surprised at how gardeners you barely know would love to contribute plants and flowers to your wedding effort. It doesn’t have to be color coordinated and matched. In these pandemic times, we all have to stretch our imaginations and think outside the wedding magazines. The great thing about learning about flowers and plants as you create the elements of your wedding is that you’ll be able to brighten the life and home you’re creating with your new spouse.
Enjoy this nature photography we’ve accumulated over the years. Daniel’s photography of nature in natural light is glorious.

Is an expensive wedding dress necessary?
Should you spend money on a white or ivory wedding gown in these financially challenging times?
Keep in mind that the concept of lavish wedding gowns developed not from tradition, but from a wedding industry that created the idea that every woman should look like a princess on her wedding day. The actual tradition of wearing white originated in Great Britain when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840. It was scandalous because until then, white was only for mourning. Somewhere along the line, black became the color of mourning. The idea of white caught on for wedding dresses after Victoria and extends to this day. Then came ivory (probably because some women felt disingenuous wearing white which stood for virginity when they were not virgins!).
In truth, there have been millions and millions of brides over time who have married in their best dress, regardless of color or length. When the United States was poised to enter the war in Europe in 1941, thousands of women in love married hastily in suits and dresses with padded shoulders and A-line skirts.
So, in these pandemic times, if your budget is limited, know that creating a wedding dress (or pants!) in your personal style is more important than adhering to either the tradition set by an English queen or the wedding industry.

Your Wedding Album Should Tell the Story of Your Wedding
Photo albums by Daniel Photo Pro are not just a collection of photos. We curate the photos to tell the story of the wedding. Every wedding is a day filled with the expected and the unexpected! We photograph it all in hundreds of shots, then select 70 to 100 photos and edit them together in a way that brings the day back to life each time you review it. Here’s a quote from a customer whose wedding we shot a few years ago. She recently contacted us about another event and included this in her email:
“I kept lots of stuff from our 2013 wedding…the dress, invitation, some decorations, photos on flash drives, video, etc.. But as the years go by, the only thing we go back to every year on our anniversary is your wonderful photo album. We get busy and never look back at the other stuff. Just your album. We re-live that wonderful day every year with your album. So thank you again for making it so special.”
Many photographers make the album mostly about the bride because she’s the one that usually drives the wedding planning and cares the most about photos. We include the best pictures of the bride and the groom, but we also take great care to tell the story of the whole family, the friends, the energy, the ambiance, and the spirit of the day. We can also include some engagement photos in the album if we do the session.
